Software for service delivery [updated]
The South Africa State of the Nation Address (SONA), is to address "The knowledge economy and development opportunities" [1]. This is rather exciting and touches the heart of the 4th Software Engineering Colloquium (SE12) [2] and other papers we have written in the last few years [3].
We are looking forward in anticipation!
While "the theme for Parliament's opening this week is inspired by South Africa's bid to become the site for the Square Kilometre Array (SKA) radio telescope", speaker Max Sisulu said on Tuesday, we hope that the discussion quickly moves on to using IT to enhance competitiveness, service delivery and reduce the carbon footprint of business.
We all want KAT to succeed (despite [4]). However, there is so much more to IT.
Update 10/2/2012
Well that was a damp software squib. Not much about software.
